Advanced Treatments

When it comes to providing our patients with the absolute highest quality of care, our years of experience and dedication to listening, understanding, and personalizing our recommendations go a long way.

But in order to truly stand out, you also need to have the right tools. At Northeast Foot and Ankle, we are proud to offer the Portsmouth and Nashua area some of the most advanced, effective, and evidenced-based treatment technologies currently available for foot and ankle care. You deserve the best, and that’s what we always strive to provide.

Read on to learn more about some of the advanced services and therapies we provide.

Swift® Microwave Therapy

The Swift® system is a non-invasive device that uses precisely tuned microwave energy to increase the temperature of the treatment area, resulting in the coagulation of the soft tissue. This cutting-edge, FDA cleared technology has proven to be highly effective in the removal of plantar warts. Treatment varies by patient and individual response to the treatment. Adults typically require 3-4 treatments, 4 weeks apart, while children typically require 1-2 treatments for successful plantar wart removal. We like to say that we’re addressing the root cause, not the symptom.

MLS Laser Therapy

Short for Multiwave Locked System, the MLS laser is used to manage pain, reduce inflammation, and speed up recovery times after an injury or a surgery.

The twin synchronized beams of light emitted by the device trigger a wide range of healing effects within an injured area, including boosted metabolism, vascular activity, and cellular regeneration. In short, it helps your body repair itself more quickly and efficiently, without using drugs.

After just a few short treatment sessions, more than 85% of patients report significant improvement in their painful symptoms. MLS therapy can cut the overall recovery time after an injury or surgery by up to 40% or more in some cases.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is another advanced option for patients suffering from chronic, painful cases of inflammatory pain, such as plantar fasciitis or neuromas.

Instead of light energy, shockwave therapy uses pulses of pressure waves to help the body repair chronic, inflamed soft tissue injuries more rapidly. These waves agitate the damaged cells and stimulate metabolism, enhance blood circulation and accelerate the healing process.

It is also a non-invasive, drug-free, and virtually side effect-free procedure with extremely high rates of patient satisfaction.

Cutera GenesisPlus Laser

The Cutera laser is the safest and most effective way to deal with a number of unsightly, embarrassing, and sometimes painful conditions that affect the skin and nails. This includes:

  • Plantar warts. The laser closes off the blood supply to the wart, starving it from oxygen and nutrients. Eventually this will cause the wart to disappear on its own, without needing to be burned or frozen off.
  • Pulses of laser energy stimulate natural collagen production and accelerates the regeneration of skin tissue. This causes scars to fade, and can even be effective in reducing hypertrophic (raised) scars and keloids.

You Deserve the Best

Being able to offer advanced therapies and technology is one of the most important ways that we differentiate ourselves from “ordinary” podiatric practices and ensure our patients always have access to the best and most comprehensive range of treatment options—which we can then customize and personalize to meet their needs.

For those who are good candidates for them, advanced therapies can make a huge difference. Faster recovery, greater convenience, minimal if any discomfort, few if any side effects, no injections, no drugs, no surgery—it’s impossible to deny the incredible value of these treatments in the right situation!

We have seen patients from all over New Hampshire and Maine, including Kittery, Eliot and York.
